A NEW LEGION OF ADVENTURE GOLF HOLES IN PETERBROUGH
THE BRIEF
Based in Dobbies Garden Centre, our client wanted an additional 18-holes of adventure golf to go alongside their popular 12-hole mini golf course. They wanted a theme connecting the city of Peterborough with the historical archeological dig of the local Roman town of Durobrivae.
Plans
Our designs incorporated features and landmarks best known with the Romans, such as: a Volcano with flowing lava; a Roman Bath; a Colosseum style amphitheater; and a working aqueduct carrying the ball across water. Pathways and lowered entrances and egress points allow for all players to access and enjoy the course including guests in wheelchairs, strollers, buggies and prams.
Our work
Using our bull-nosed kerb blocks, our SmoothPutt carpet to ensure both durability and for enhance playability, our building crews, craftsmen, expert prop makers and artists, brought this site to life, whilst making it fully accessible to all, welcoming to players whether aged 3 or 93 and appealing to all genders, cultures and abilities.
The results
The course opened in Spring 2023, receiving great accolades both from those more serious players up for a challenge and those just looking to have a really fun experience. Many people returning again and again to try out new routes from the tee to the cup and enjoying the fun selfie opportunities.
And finally…
The course owner, could not help but to observe his growing (golf) empire from his state of the art chariot.
