Manchester loves crazy golf

After the hugely successful 2013 London Golf Show we couldn’t wait to make an appearance at the 2014 Manchester Golf Show, held at Event City adjacent to the Trafford Centre. The timing was ideal for us as we were able to showcase our brand new ‘Serpentine’ portable crazy golf course with sinuous curves and a striking orange and blue felt surface. It’s one of our most innovative courses to date.

As usual we had plenty to offer visitors to our stand. Alongside the 6-hole Serpentine Course – which we rearranged each day to create a fresh layout – we had our “gourmet” table tennis game ‘PongCrazy’ for people to try out, a selection of high-grade crazy golf equipment for sale and our Hole-In-One-Challenge. I don’t think we could have crammed any more on to the stand if we tried!

The show was vibrant, with an abundance of amazing exhibitors that we got on with famously, like the flamboyant Crestlink UK, enthralling Dean Davis Golf Trick Shot Show and über-smart Taylor Grey to name but three.

Our crazy golf course proved popular with visitors, each of whom was asked to make a small contribution to the charity Lords Taverners before taking on the obstacled challenge. After taming the course, players were then ushered over to the bonus hole whereupon they were offered three attempts at an ace. Those that triumphed got entered into a draw to win either a pair of Monarch flights, or a daily prize of two season tickets to the Ricoh Women’s British Open. The winners have just been announced. Fanfare please…

• Monarch flights: Eddie McLarnan

• Ricoh Womens’ British Open tickets: Danielle Freer; Darren Astley; Susie Lamb

Congratulations to all four of you!
