Baker -v- Kelly: Updated 27.4.14

We’re delighted that the producers of Baker & Kelly’s VSPO (on BT Sport 1 every Friday evening) have booked our services for a number their live shows since October 2013. Hosted by the flamboyant and excitable pairing of Danny Baker and Danny Kelly, the show takes an amusing, left-field look at the world of football and other sports. One of the recurring features pits the Dannies against each other in a golfing challenge, and so we have been supplying courses together with wacky, novelty obstacles, created by us and based on outlandish suggestions by viewers.

Read on for an overview of each appearance and see right for a selection of stills and snapshots from the various broadcasts:

—

FRIDAY, 18 OCTOBER 2013:

We supplied a football pitch themed course together with a putt-through TV obstacle. To add some bite the TV bore the face of Luis Suarez with the Uruguayan striker’s mouth doubling up as a tunnel. In an unexpected twist, former England full back Tony Dorigo swung his arm across the front of the goal mimicking the sails of a windmill, in an effort to keep the balls out.

FRIDAY, 25 OCTOBER 2013:

This football pitch course featured one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s new books (“My Autobiography“) which we cut a mouse hole in to for the ball to pass through. Danny Baker, in true form, used the hairdryer treatment to “scare” the ball in to the goal.

—

FRIDAY, 8 NOVEMBER 2013:

This time we made 3 obstacles for Danny Baker and Danny Kelly to negotiate. The viewers had suggested a diving Ashley Young, a pair of Neil “Razor” Ruddock’s extra large shorts and a brilliant Bruce Grobbelaar and his 1984 European Cup Final spaghetti legs.

—

FRIDAY, 29 NOVEMBER 2013:

The boys took shots in turn with the aim of avoiding the blood spurting from Terry Butcher’s bandaged head. Next up the ball passed through the “Corridor of Uncertainty” lined with managers and players with uncertain futures. The final obstacle, positioned in front of the goal, was a red beach ball aka Sunderland’s 12th man in their game against Liverpool back in 2009.

—

FRIDAY, 9 DECEMBER 2013:

The Dannies used Diego Maradona’s “hand of god” to knock the ball beyond Pickles (the dog who famously found the missing world cup). Navigating their way around a pile of brazil nuts and the notorious ’66 Russian linesman, the presenters crossed the metatarsal bone bridge guarded by Messers Beckham and Rooney. Diana Ross was the goalie evoking memories of her disastrous performance during the opening ceremony of USA 1994.

FRIDAY, 21 February 2014:

With the Winter Olympics in full flow and Team GB winning silver and bronze medals in the popular curling event, Baker challenged Kelly to a game of curling. Using our Signature Course’s ‘Target Hole’ and with the aid of brooms, the Dannies used frozen chickens in place of the stones. CLICK HERE to see the hilarious consequences..

FRIDAY, 25 April 2014:

David Moyes got the expected sack this week.  Baker and Kelly summarised “The Chosen One’s”  Manchester United era with an assortment of obstacles we made to depict the landmarks of his journey with the Red Devils.
