CRAZY GOLF: Daisy Made Farm, Lincs

You can keep playing this course until the cows come home

THE BRIEF

Our client wanted to replace their old rotting timber-based course with a new landscaped permanent 12-hole farm themed crazy golf course to complement their cafe serving their homemade ice cream!

Plans

We set about creating designs that not only maximised the space but offered fun and quirky theming that incorporated features from the farm and cafe, cows and ice cream. We also ensured that it was fully accessible for wheelchair users and appealing to players of all ages.

Our work

With the Red Arrows giving us daily training displays above our heads, we removed the old course and the hard standing bases. We then prepared the ground for the new holes. We used edger-style kerbing blocks with timbers to follow the contours of the course with flexi-pave covering the walkways. Many of the original obstacles from the previous course were lovingly restored in our workshop and incorporated into the course, alongside new features.

The results

Amongst the obstacles we created, was a giant scone complete with cream and jam representing a popular item on the Dairy Made Farm cafe menu. Once the course was complete, not only was the jam in the scone, but also in the car park as so many people wanted to come and play!

And finally…

Instead of chickens laying eggs, on this course they lay golf balls! As part of our quirky design, the ball is played up a ramp, through a chicken coop and eventually comes out of the hen's backside making for a very egg-citing hole!
