2019 has been another great year for UrbanCrazy. Our team have been involved in some really interesting and exciting projects and have had a ‘ball’ along the way.

Another week, another TV appearance for UrbanCrazy’s portable mini golf, this time as part of a Ryder Cup edition of Sky Sport 1’s, ‘Game Changers’. The Saturday morning show, hosted by keen golfer Di Dougherty and former British athlete Darren Campbell, encourages young people to take an interest and get involved in all manner of different sports.
Being on a mission to visit and play all of the Minigolf, Crazy Golf and Adventure Golf courses in the UK we’re always on the lookout for new places to play.
There are over 600 courses in the country, ranging from 9-hole to 54-hole complexes, with layouts indoors as well as outside. Some are of the seaside classic ‘Windmill’ type of course, others are newer all-singing, all-dancing adventure-themed golf courses with animatronic dinosaurs, jungles, volcanoes and plenty of water features. After 30 years’ service, the old minigolf course in Barnard Castle, County Durham was beginning to ‘show its age’ and so the local Town Council decided it was time to replace it. They set about finding a company that could design and build a suitable replacement and we are delighted to say that, following a vigorous procurement process, we at UrbanCrazy were awarded the contract.
Now, after a 16 week build program and a herculean effort from all involved, the course is open for business! Read more
It all went a bit crazy at the Westfield Shopping Centre in Merry Hill last Friday and the men in white coats had to be called in. Actually they were 10 children from St James’s C.E. Primary School who won a competition to be the official testers of the new Quest For Golf adventure golf course, designed conjointly by UrbanCrazy and Paragon Creative. Chris Harding, 2 times World Crazy Golf champion, also came along to put the course through its paces and offer some hints and tips to the school children.
Over 3 days in August last year, 6 British minigolfers competed at the elite 2012 European Minigolf Championships in Portugal, sponsored by us here at UrbanCrazy.
Those players were British Team captain Marc Chapman, seasoned UK tour pro Tony Kelly, twice Kent Open winner Seth Thomas, Cambridgeshire Club captain James Rutherford, the team’s youngest player Freddie Blackburn-Shaw and 2009 London Open champion Adam Kelly.
